The show also features modern animals that can trace their ancestry back to the past, being depicted in live-action segments akin to traditional nature documentaries. October 1, 2024: The Life on Our Planet Wiki is now one year old. Our Planet Live has been announced: a new and immersive live show featuring behind-the-scenes stories from the explorers, filmmakers, scientists, and adventurers that created the Netflix documentaries Our Planet and Life on Our Planet. Live lectures on Life on Our Planet will take place in intervals between October 3 - May 25 in locations around North America and the UK. Book tickets here.
Life on Our Planet is now an Emmy® nominee. Despite being nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Narrator of 2024, Morgan Freeman did not win (award went to Angela Bassett, who narrated Queens).
A next iteration of Life on Our Planet has been greenlighted by Netflix. Four new episodes will “tell the story of the rise and fall of the dinosaurs – where they came from, why they mattered, how they evolved and how they met their ultimate fate.” A release date has currently not been announced.
